West Bengal Ayush Doctors’ Welfare Association was formed in the year 1918 with great aim to unite all the practitioners of 21( 2 ) of The Paschim Banga Unani System Of Medicine Act 1979 & to upgrade the practitioners according to. Also to give better support to practitioners from the social hassment because of unawareness of common people.

Though the Five – Year Plans of India, produced by The Planning Commission Of India later on NITI AAYOG, alloteded considerable focus to alternative medicines especially the indigenous , forms of medicine within the HEALTHCARE SECTOR. The Government Of India form verious Committees for the HEALTHCARE SECTOR in the year 1946, 1961& 1975 which emphasised the need of traditional system of Indian Medicine. The NATIONAL HEALTH POLICY 1983, NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY IN HEALTH SCIENCE 1989 & NATIONAL HEALTH POLICY 2002 further elaborated the role of INDIAN SYSTEM OF MEDICINE & HOMEOPATHY as mean to facilities heathcare in rural areas where many Indians lack adequate health service.
